May 4, 2009, Toronto, Ontario—Today, Open Systems Group Limited appointed Barry Gane as vice president of sales and marketing.
Barry has more than twenty five years of experience in the information technology industry. Over his career Barry has worked as both a technology consultant and a project manager for a number of international projects across Canada, the United States, Britain, the Netherlands, Russia and Australia. In all, he has been a significant contributor to, or has delivered, more than two dozen major technology initiatives on behalf of IBM, Data General, Hewlett Packard and Price Waterhouse Coopers.
Over the past decade, Barry has moved to work with various firms to help them to develop new product lines or new markets, leveraging both his project management, and sales & marketing background. For Platform Computing, he helped the firm to develop a successful strategy for penetrating the financial services market; for Stratix Consulting, he helped the firm to develop a base for its business in Montreal - a new market for the company; for CommSolv, he worked to develop the company's business in Canada by establishing sales channels and creating a funnel of new business opportunities.
Barry is fluent and accomplished in spoken and written English, and he has a working knowledge of spoken and written French, having been born in Montreal, Canada . He is an accomplished speaker and has presented at major conferences, in both French and English in Toronto, Montreal, Paris, London, and Tokyo
Barry is a cum laude graduate of the University of Waterloo, with an Honours Cooperative Bachelor of Mathematics degree, majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University.
